Hybrid and Digital Solutions

We're testing, piloting, and scaling new and innovative programmatic interventions using hybrid and digital approaches.

Modernizing our approach to meet the moment

For more than two decades, Equimundo has delivered transformative, in-person group programs that empower men and boys to become allies for a safer, more just, and caring world. But the world is changingโ€”and so are the ways people connect, learn, and seek support.

Our usersโ€”whether boys and men, caregivers, educators, or community leadersโ€”are navigating hybrid realities. They engage across multiple touchpoints: in-person, through mobile apps, on social media, and within gaming communities.

To keep pace with this shift and respond to growing social and political challenges, we are reimagining how we engage men and boysโ€”embedding digital touchpoints across our programming to ensure we reach them where they already are. Weโ€™re expanding our tools while staying rooted in the human, hopeful, and transformative approach that defines Equimundoโ€™s work.

EQUIMUNDO MEETS MEN AND BOYS WHERE THEY ARE: ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AT SCHOOL, AT WORK, AND IN GAMING COMMUNITIES.

Our digital portfolio builds on the deep, transformative work Equimundo is known for, creating spaces where men and boys can safely explore, reflect, and connect, while fostering meaningful relationships in accessible and engaging ways.

Our Roles

Connector

Building pathways to belonging

Digital spaces can break down barriers and foster meaningful connection. Equimundoโ€™s digital products serve as connectorsโ€”creating moderated peer groups, delivering virtual training, and cultivating inclusive communities that reinforce positive norms and emotional support.

Coach

Fostering personal growth and reflection

Our digital toolsโ€”such as AI chatbots, digital nudges, and interactive modulesโ€”serve as coaches that guide men and boys toward healthier expressions of masculinity. These tools also support the adults in boysโ€™ lives, including educators, facilitators, and caregivers, by offering real-time guidance for deeper, more supportive interactions.

Collaborator

Scaling impact through partnership

We partner with public and private sector actors to embed our evidence-based approaches across institutionsโ€”ranging from workplaces and health systems to media platforms and gaming companies. As collaborators, we ensure our tools influence change at scale and in context.

Some highlights from our digital solutions

Piloted in Colombia, Paternar is a 10-week digital and hybrid support group experience for fathers of children ages 0 to 5 and their partners. Delivered via WhatsApp, it is a digital adaptation of our evidence-based Program P. The intervention aims to promote gender-equitable attitudes and behaviors, increase nurturing and co-responsible fatherhood, and prevent and reduce family violence. Pilot data from Colombia showed promising results, and we plan to scale this approach through national government services, as well as adapt it for other contexts around the world.

Equimundo offers a growing catalog of curated, asynchronous eLearning modules designed to support partners and practitioners across sectors. Some modules are tailored specifically for educatorsโ€”such as those developed for teachers in the UK and Mexico to promote gender equity in the classroom. Others, like Mainstreaming Male Allyship: An Action Guide for Business, are designed for the private sector, offering practical tools to engage men in advancing workplace equality.

In partnership with Puddle and Plural, Equimundo has developed an AI-powered chatbot designed to support facilitators, teachers, and parents in real time. The Facilitator AI Coach serves two key functions: first, as a digital trainer offering bite-sized learning modules on core concepts like healthy masculinities, gender equity, and emotional resilience; second, as a 24/7 support tool that helps adults navigate real-world challenges and questions they encounter while working with youth. Whether itโ€™s preparing for a group session or responding to a difficult moment, the AI Coach offers practical, on-demand guidance grounded in Equimundoโ€™s evidence-based approach. The tool is currently being tested and will launch by September 2025.

Equimundo collaborates with a range of organizations and companies to design and distribute compelling content that brings concepts of healthy masculinity to scale. These partnerships include work with AMAZE.org to develop animated videos for boys, and collaborations with Next Gen Men, COSMOW, and Ryzo Studios to create Roblox games that integrate messages promoting empathy, emotional expression, and gender equality. Through these creative partnerships, weโ€™re ensuring boys engage with positive narratives where they already spend timeโ€”online.

LinkUp Lab is a joint initiative launched in 2024 by Equimundo and Futures Without Violence to design and test digital-first strategies that reach young men in the online spaces where they spend their time. In response to rising digital misinformation, misogyny, and anti-democratic content, the Lab brings together researchers, creatives, and technologists to disrupt harmful narratives and build a pipeline of positive alternatives. Through experimental campaigns, message testing, and new platform partnerships, LinkUp Lab is developing and amplifying content that promotes emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships, and community connectionโ€”offering young men a more hopeful, human-centered vision of masculinity in the digital age.

Project Moonlight is shaping the future of digital community by engineering trust and connection into the fabric of online platforms. Partnering with moderators and game designers, weโ€™re prototyping behavioral nudges and back-end tools that make virtual spaces safer, more meaningful, and more human. At the same time, weโ€™re building intentional off-rampsโ€”from screens to real-world connectionโ€”helping users bridge the gap between digital belonging and offline support. This project is a part of the LinkUp Lab.ย

Equimundo is partnering with Diverting Hate, a US-based initiative that leverages online advertising strategies to disrupt harmful content consumption patterns among men and boys. By placing targeted ads and redirect messages, this approach intervenes in real timeโ€”guiding users away from misogynistic or extremist content and toward pro-social, gender-equitable resources. The goal is to not only shift their digital experiences but also connect them with offline communities of men seeking support, belonging, and healthier forms of connection. This work is part of a broader effort to reclaim digital spaces and ensure they foster care, empathy, and inclusion. This project is a part of the LinkUp Lab.ย
