The Caring Men in Media Test, developed by Equimundo with the Geena Davis Institute and Stephanie Tholand, is a direct nod to the Bechdel-Wallace test – simple, memorable, and built to spark the same kind of conversation. It can be applied to any media with a male character carrying a sufficient arc: film, TV, radio, books, comics, video games, and more. A piece of media passes if a named male character talks to another named male character about his inner emotional life, and that disclosure is met with compassion.
