State of Nordic Men 2026

A new Nordic study shows that most Nordic citizens associate masculinity with friendship and care. At the same time, it also shows that economic insecurity significantly increases the risk of loneliness, poor mental health, and support for more restrictive ideals of masculinity.

These findings are presented in the report State of Nordic Men, produced by Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The study is based on responses from 4,547 women and men aged 18 to 45 in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
